NEW YORK: Financial communications shop Vested has hired Christina Bertinelli as an MD based in New York.
Bertinelli, reporting to CEO Dan Simon and president Binna Kim, will be part of Vested’s leadership team, involved in day-to-day strategic decisions at the firm.
Bertinelli said the agency struck her as "a place I can grow and bring the skillset I’ve been building for the past 20 years and expand upon it with like-minded entrepreneurs who have a team-oriented approach."
"Also, the focus on financial services was a home run," she added.
Bertinelli will focus on serving clients, leading various relationships. She will also work to grow the agency’s client base, lead its marketing offering, and support staff professional development.
Two of Bertinelli’s clients are coming with her: private equity firms J.C. Flowers and MidOcean Partners. She said that she began working with J.C. Flowers six years ago at Instinctif Partners, the U.K.-based agency whose New York office she launched and managed. Bertinelli began working with MidOcean at Lumentus, the the firm where she most recently worked.
"I’m very fortunate to have incredible loyalty from my clients," Bertinelli said. "Their first question was, ‘Can we come with you?’ The answer was, ‘Yes, of course.’ So I told them about Vested, and they were excited for me from a professional standpoint, but also for themselves because of its tremendous focus on financial services and their full offering."
Kim said that Vested is investing in its platform businesses, and its professional services business is also expanding "rapidly."
At Lumentus, Bertinelli was a senior partner for more than four years, establishing and leading its digital reputation practice and responsible for a team of creatives who served financial services clients. She worked on the opening of Time Warner Center and oversaw communications for the IPO of Martha Stewart Living, according to a statement from Vested.
Vested connected with Bertinelli through recruiter Capstone Hill Search.
