Burrows had been at the agency for six-and-a-half years. He was previously head of digital until last August, when his role changed to head of digital integration after Robert Stone was brought in as director of digital strategy and innovation.
The agency confirmed Burrows’ departure to PRWeek and said the business is undergoing a strategic shift to invest in digital areas that can deliver new revenue streams.
"Under Rob’s leadership we’re focused on ramping up our digital services building our capabilities in digital strategic consultancy, analytics, paid media, website development, AI applications and SEO services – and of course we continue to handle social media programmes," 3 Monkeys Zeno UK managing director Christine Jewell said.
"We’re currently in hiring mode for a number of specialist digital and digital design roles and have new digital projects and clients coming on stream over the coming months."
3 Monkeys Zeno also appointed former Golin employee Dan Noctor as digital content director in August.
His remit is to lead design and content production across digital and PR, managing the agency’s in-house team of designers, illustrators and videographers.
Prior to 3 Monkeys Zeno, Burrows was head of digital at Unity, and has also had stints at Que Pasa Communications and EMAP.
