Twitter hires executive to help automotive brands with marketing campaigns

Guy Schueller will help car and truck brands with campaigns like Mini's Tweet to Test Drive.

DETROIT: Twitter has hired Guy Schueller as industry director of automotive, effective on Monday.

Schueller is based in Detroit and reporting to Rob Pietsch, MD of technology, auto, and telecommunications. He will work to drive partnerships and revenue growth with top automotive brands in the U.S., working on campaigns such as Mini’s recent Tweet to Test Drive, according to a statement from Twitter.

Schueller was previously Google's automotive industry director. Over the last six-plus years, he co-led sales and operations teams within the U.S. automotive vertical, focusing on General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and Ford, according to Twitter.

Earlier in his career, he spent two years at Microsoft as the global automotive industry insights lead, and more than a decade at creative agencies, leading automotive-focused media and digital teams at both Publicis Groupe’s Starcom for General Motors and Interpublic’s UM for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

Schueller could not be immediately reached for additional comment.
