DIARY: Women in PR celebrate PRWeek's token male

Last week's Ruby anniversary party for Women in PR saw big-wigs gather at London's Mall Galleries for an upbeat review of four decades networking among colleagues in the communications trade.

In accordance with the body's concern with work-life balance issues, PRWeek editor - and former WPR member - Kate Nicholas was otherwise engaged at her young daughter's parents' evening.

Our male news editor, dispatched instead, was greeted with a quizzical look by organiser Lynne Parker, before declaring himself and being welcomed with open arms. The word 'brave' was mentioned more than once, but a bubbly time was had by all.
