Inside Health will circulate the first of its bi-monthly issues in September with a minimum of 64 pages.
The magazine will be run by an editorial panel, and edited by publishing editor and consultant surgeon Fazal Hasan, and managing editor Janet Simpson.
Simpson said the title will adopt a generalist approach to healthcare issues: 'We will always cover children and paediatrics, as well as older patients and general health issues such as MMR and HRT. There are a lot of healthcare issues where we feel the arguments have been misrepresented in the national media.'
Inside Health will be available free in surgeries, by paid-for subscription and online.
It is the second launch of a healthcare magazine targeting waiting rooms this month. Last week saw the unveiling of Healthwise, a magazine with content aimed at ABC1 women (PRWeek, 12 July).
