Top agency gong for Lansons at IPR Excellence Awards

LONDON - Lansons Communications won the outstanding achievement by a consultancy prize at this week's IPR Excellence Awards.

Among the 19 category winners were Lansons, which was praised for winning 20 new clients and growing profits by 24% in a difficult market, while extending ownership of the company to a larger group of employees.

The award for outstanding achievement by an in-house private sector PR team went to the team from Mini for a car launch PR drive that led to 5,000 sales before advertising started.

East Riding of Yorkshire council picked up the award for achievement by an in-house team in the public sector for initiatives including e-government advances and a strong proactive media strategy.

The CSR award was won by Centrica for its Breathing Life campaign, which involved work with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity chosen by staff.

Young communicator of the year was Cairns & Associates former acting managing director Charlotte Clarke.
