Munro spent four years at Whitehouse and has previously worked for Low Carbon, E3G, The Political Communications Studio and in several other senior public affairs roles in a 20-year career.

She will lead Hume Brophy operations in the UK, including the London office’s strategic corporate affairs offering, which brings together public affairs, corporate and financial communications, regulatory intelligence and digital services teams. The agency has a track record of serving the financial services and aviation industries.

Under Munro’s leadership, the firm will roll out a "strengthened corporate affairs practice".

"We have seen increasing demand from our clients for an integrated corporate affairs offer, whether focused on the UK or for international mandates hubbed out of London, and leveraging our network of fully integrated global offices," Hume Brophy chief executive Conall McDevitt said.

"Helen is ideally placed to progress and lead our offer," he continued. "Her strategic communications track record, proven client relationships and leadership to drive the most impact impressed. We are very pleased to have her join the Hume Brophy team and her business development experience will be essential as we continue our ambitious plans for our us and for our clients."

Munro added: "Communications has become integral to many companies seeking to ensure they are positioned to shape the environments in which they operate, and during these coming years this will be distinctly important.

"Hume Brophy is well placed to support these businesses, and I look forward to leading our corporate affairs practice to achieve our clients’ communications objectives as we engage, influence and create change."

Last year, Pete Murray joined Hume Brophy's London office as director of corporate affairs, following a two-year stint leading comms for Metro Bank.

Hume Brophy has offices in London, Brussels, Frankfurt, Paris, Dublin, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
