Premier acquires cultural music agency Albion Media

Entertainment, arts and culture communications agency Premier has acquired classical music and performing arts specialist agency Albion Media.

Albion Media, founded and run by Simon Millward, is one of Europe’s top communications agencies specialising in classical music and performing arts.

Its clients include artists, cultural organisations, recording companies and foundations. The roster includes London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal College of Music, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Gramophone Awards, Wigmore Hall, Leeds International Piano Festival and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Artists on its books include American conductors Marin Also and Carl Davis, and highly acclaimed sopranos Lise Davidsen and Joyce DiDonato.

Premier said the acquisition broadens its expertise and client base, and would enable Albion Media to grow its offering in the classical music and performing arts sectors.

"Albion Media is the foremost name in classical music communications and is a perfect match with the team of experts here at Premier. We also welcome Albion’s wonderful roster of clients," Premier executive chairman John Reiss said.

"This move is in line with our ongoing strategy of growth across the core business. This acquisition gives opportunity to further develop our activity in arts and culture, and we look forward to welcoming the Albion team when they move in to the Premier offices very soon."

Albion Media director Simon Millward added: "The new capabilities that this move will bring our clients is hugely exciting and I look forward to working with the senior team in broadening Premier’s client base and expertise across the classical music and arts sectors."

Earlier this year, Premier sold its DVD authoring and digital platform delivery division to content and digital firm Visual Data Media Services.

Prior to that sale, Premier reported 2017 revenue of £19.9m and 175 staff.
