She has previously worked as the deputy head of City of London’s Brussels office and held senior policy roles at HM Treasury.
Gillam will report into Invesco’s general counsel of EMEA Rupert Rossander in London.
Her appointment forms part of Invesco’s new approach towards external engagement, which will also include the creation of a head of UK government relations and public policy, and the recently-formed US government relations team in Washington DC.
The EMEA and US-based teams will work with Invesco’s corporate communications team to develop a tailored programme focused on building the business' approach to stakeholder engagement.
"We are delighted to have Elizabeth on board. Invesco recognises the growing importance of engaging with policy makers, regulators and other key stakeholders both globally and regionally, and Elizabeth will form a key part of driving this important initiative forward in Europe," Roussander said.
