WE Communications promotes Marisa Lalli to New York office lead

NEW YORK: WE Communications has named Marisa Lalli as GM and SVP of its New York office.

Lalli stepped into the role in mid-September, reporting to EVP Bill Schultz. She is overseeing 40 staffers in the office.

The last leader of WE’s New York office was Alyssa Garnick, who had the title of New York MD. Garnick left WE to join FleishmanHillard as SVP and senior partner in June.

Lalli has worked at WE for six years as a VP, focusing on the consumer sector. In that role, she led accounts such as McDonald’s and printer company Brother and worked on integrated consumer campaigns. Responsibilities from her previous role will be folded into her new one, she said.

Lalli played a pivotal role in bringing global consumer and technology brands such as Brother, iRobot, and McDonald’s to WE, the firm said in a statement. She helped to expand WE’s client roster to include categories such as consumer devices, education, food, smart home, and the smart office.

"I have been here for six years and what has kept me here is the ability to chart my own course in my career and work with amazing and badass people," said Lalli. "That’s what I want to keep going and fostering here in this office."

Lalli started her career as a media relations assistant for the Grammy Awards. After that, she was a senior account executive at Ketchum and worked at Wenner Media, according to her LinkedIn account.

WE’s New York office has grown its revenue by 14.5% over the past year and added clients such as DBS Bank, AT&T, and McDonald’s to a roster that also includes Volvo, Microsoft, and healthcare tech company Tabula Rasa, according to a release. Last year, WE saw 8% revenue growth to $110.4 million.
