10 brands create their own Presidential Alerts

Following the #PresidentialAlert, brands followed up with their own "important" messages to the public.

Across the U.S. at 2:18 p.m. EST on Wednesday, smartphones received a Presidential Alert from FEMA: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed."

Soon after, #PresidentialAlert was trending on social media. Brands quickly followed up by tweeting their own "Presidential Alerts" to followers.
