DIARY: Diary toasts survey at Comms Directors Forum

You would think the sight of several hundred comms directors embarrassing themselves by spinning and swaying on a dance floor would be the highlight of Diary's week. But you'd be wrong.

As 800 delegates, exhibitors and speakers swelled the bars and discos of the Aurora cruise ship last week at the Communication Directors Forum, Diary - after mingling with the throng - was more astonished to spot one nugget of pure gold among the original research produced for the event.

The research apparently showed that PRWeek is the most avidly read publication for comms directors, beating stalwarts such as The Financial Times and The Times.

Seventy-two per cent of comms directors regularly read your trusty organ. That makes it a more popular read than The Sunday Times (69 per cent), The Times (65 per cent) and The FT (59 per cent).

The result was culled from more than 100 completed questionnaires. You will hopefully understand why Diary had a celebratory drink or 12 at Aurora's countless bars.
