Brazen to promote Commonwealth Games 2002 book

Consumer shop Brazen has landed a PR remit to oversee the launch of a commemorative book about the Commonwealth Games.

Spirit of Friendship will be published in September as a photographic review 'candidly capturing' the 2002 games, which begin in Manchester next month.

It is published by Chief Publishing, the publishing division of Manchester-based Chief Television.

Brazen has been tasked with generating national and regional press coverage and establishing links with local retailers. It is also responsible for marketing the book.

Brazen director Emma Thornley will head a three-strong account team, reporting to Chief Publishing director Dawn Offland-Golding.

'The account is divided 50-50 between PR and marketing. We will be targeting the media in the north-west, and nationally through Guardian Media, which is one of the sponsors,' said Thornley.
