Financial Dynamics wins pitch to relaunch asset division of HBOS

LONDON - Financial Dynamics has won a five-month pitch to secure the six-figure PR account to rebrand and relaunch HBOS's asset management arm.

The consultancy beat at least five other agencies to the business, which was put out to pitch at the start of the year.

The top-five UK bank held a PR review following the merger of the three asset management divisions of Clerical Medical, Halifax and Equitable Life.

HBOS is set to relaunch the business, currently known as Clerical Medical Investment Management and led by MD Gary Mairs, under an as-yet-unannounced brand later in the year.

FD will lead a City, institutional and consumer brief, reporting to asset management head of external relations Annie Dixon, who was appointed earlier this year (PRWeek, 19 April). FD partner and consumer finance head Guy Bellamy is leading the brief.

'The sector spends a lot of time focusing on B2B PR and media, but we're going to be trying to break HBOS free of jargon, focusing heavily on the broadcast media and home news media to broaden the PR programme,' said Bellamy.

He heads a team of ten on the account, stretching across the City, retail and institutional divisions within FD.
