The appointment was made following a two-way competitive pitch. The four-strong Phipps team, led by creative director Imogen Russon, will support Nando's in-house marketing team.
Russon will report to Nando's marketing manager Louise Agran.
'We will be responsible for raising awareness and creating hype around Nando's new store openings, of which many are planned,' said Russon.
The agency's first task is to carry out Nando's World Cup activity, and the year-long brief covers 'creative news generation plus crisis and issues management'.
'We pride ourselves on fun at Nando's and we like to push the boundaries when it comes to creativity,' said Agran.
