DIARY: GPC chief Bell in public bus snobbery blunder

Die-hard Tory Kevin Bell - the GPC boss who sheds a tear each 22 November to mark the end of Baroness Thatcher's time at Number 10 - is making a name for himself among London bus drivers. Congestion has forced the dapper lobbyist to commute on a common-or-garden Routemaster.

'They did not take kindly to my unique brand of snobbery,' he says. 'I will know better next time.'
