It is led by Liam Maguire, who was previously Good Relations' head of news, and has had a career in journalism freelancing for the Evening Standard and other nationals, along with PR roles at Bell Pottinger and the Royal British Legion. He is a Sandhurst-educated British Army veteran.
Maguire will be joined by Katie Moran, formerly a director at Citigate Dewe Rogerson, who is head of client services.
The agency is fully owned by Chime, and sits within the VCCP division. It will be based in the same Victoria premises as Good Relations and share resources with that agency.
Good Relations declined to name any clients secured by Newsfeed PR already, and said it was not targetting particular sectors but would work for companies that want quick and tangible results, regardless of industry.
"The new offering is aimed at brands and organisations requiring immediate game-changing media results and comes in response to market demand for a 24-hour digital news cycle mentality," Good Relations said in a release.
Maguire said: "Newsfeed PR is a 'crack on', can-do, no-nonsense, rapid-fire team of publicists who are interested in one thing: pulling clients out of the trade pages and getting them to the top of the newsfeed. We’re going to challenge clients to be bold, have an opinion and get in the game."
Good Relations itself is ranked 48th in the 2017 PRWeek Top 150 Consultancies list and has this year secured major briefs with Thomas Cook and Lidl.
