NEW YORK: Weber Shandwick has acquired Resolute Digital and Bomoda to expand its global data science, analytics, search, and performance marketing capabilities.
Both Resolute and Bomoda will retain their brands. The acquisitions will combine Weber’s expertise in PR, earned media, and integrated marketing with new capabilities in data and analytics.
The Interpublic Group agency’s clients are seeking creative ideas and communications strategies that are "rooted in super-sharp insights and data," said Weber chief digital officer Chris Perry.
Bomoda will increase Weber’s technology and development chops, while Resolute will deepen its performance media, search, analytics, and design capabilities, he added.
New York-based Resolute is a full-service digital marketing and technology agency with expertise in website analytics, search engine marketing, performance marketing, mobile, and web design.
"[Resolute] was among the first Google Analytics-certified partners, so they run super-deep in that environment, which is core to a lot of the work we are doing these days," said Perry.
Bomoda, also headquartered in New York, is a data science and business intelligence firm with specialization in influencer marketing and digital commerce. It leverages consumer behavior data collected and analyzed from China’s largest mobile and social platforms, and provides strategic counsel and data-driven insights to brands and companies in China.
"Bomoda gives us and our clients a sense of what the influencer landscape looks like in the Chinese market," said Perry. "That is a core part of our clients’ marketing and comms mix over there. We saw the opportunity to take the data science capabilities behind that and look to go with additional opportunities we see in North America, Europe, and beyond."
No layoffs will result from the deal, and there are no client conflicts, according to Perry. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Both deals closed in early November.
Weber posted 7% organic revenue growth last year, pushing it past the $800 million mark for annual revenue.
