DIARY: Gillan Media in lobby push for International Union of Sex Workers
Even the oldest profession, it seems, has recognised the need for a
little image management. The International Union of Sex Workers has
launched a PR offensive to attract attention to its demands for the
trade with the help of agency Gillan Media.
The body is lobbying for the decriminalisation of sex work involving
consenting adults, the right to work on the same basis as other
independent contractors and access to training in the 'specialist
skills' required by the industry.
Fortunately, unlike many other campaigns, the work remains issues-based
rather than as a means to drive sales.
