Redleaf lands financial services win

Porta-owned Redleaf Communications has been appointed to the combined financial, trade and corporate PR mandate for financial services firm European Wealth Group. The client, which is planning to rebrand to Kingswood PLC and also acquire US-based Newbridge, provides financial planning, investment management, broker-dealing and investment banking. Part of the work was previously handled by FWD. There was no open pitch process.

MHP wins former Bell Pottinger client

MHP Communications has been appointed by listed motor retail and aftersales group Lookers as its retained financial PR firm, a client previously handled by Bell Pottinger. The MHP team is being led by Tim Rowntree and Simon Hockridge. MHP's financial team has also recently won work with Nanoco, Paypoint and former Brunswick client Cobham, among others. The agency has also hired Mike Robb as head of financial services and brought in two former Bell Pottinger partners.

Joinery body partners with Speed

The British Woodworking Federation (BWF), a trade body with 700 UK woodworking and joinery firms as members, has hired Speed as its retained PR consultancy after whittling down the shortlist in a competitive pitch process.

Diffusion cooks up a storm

FoodStars, which is being pitched as the 'WeWork of kitchens' and offers shared commercial kitchen space, has brought in Diffusion to handle its consumer, business and trade PR. The appointment comes after a competitive pitch process.

Travel brands hire Hills Balfour

Hills Balfour has been appointed as agency of record for holiday and river cruise firms Cosmos and Avalon Waterways, both of which are part of Globus. The agency also recently won the UK PR brief for US tourism body Brand USA.

Legal work for Big Brand Ideas

Cheshire law firm SAS Daniels has appointed Big Brand Ideas to run its PR activity. The agency already provides services including branding, creative, website development and SEO to the client.

Midlands integrated agency HROC has won a competitive pitch to handle the PR, social media, creative services, media, design and digital for freshly prepared food supplier Kanes Foods.

Liva appoints Milk & Honey

Start-up Milk & Honey PR has been appointed to promote the digital health platform of Danish company Liva Healthcare, which has itself been named digital partner of an NHS diabetes prevention programme.
