Interpublic CMG revenue dips 5% in Q3. Constituency Management Group, the division of Interpublic Group that contains most of its PR firms as well as several specialist marketing shops, reported an organic revenue drop of 5% in the third quarter to $382.4 million. Overall, the holding company’s revenue increased 0.5% organically to $1.9 billion in Q3. IPG's revenue was up 1.3% organically in the U.S. in the third quarter.
This is only a test. Facebook is trying to stop publishers from panicking this morning. The social network penned a blog post on Tuesday morning clarifying that it is only testing a version of News Feed featuring posts from friends and sponsored posts, without items from publishers. Media companies feared such a separation could cause traffic to plummet. Facebook said it has "no plans to roll out this test further."
Blow to Whirlpool brand from Sears, earnings. After a pricing dispute, Sears said late Monday that it will no longer sell Whirlpool products, including its Maytag, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air brands, according to The Wall Street Journal. Shares of Whirlpool fell sharply on Monday after it issued a profit warning due to rising costs, according to the WSJ.
Huckabee Sanders promises more on-the-record comments from White House. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday night that she is pushing for more attributable comments from Trump administration officials, but lamented, "We’re constantly having to compete with anonymous sources," according to Politico. Huckabee Sanders, speaking on a panel, cited a March poll from Harvard University that found that more than 90% of coverage of the Trump administration on CNN is negative.
