Alsén leaves Burson

Burson-Marsteller's chief client officer for EMEA, Sara Alsén, has been appointed global comms and sustainable business director at Blueair, a Swedish air purification firm owned by Unilever. Alsén was also MD of Burson's Stockholm office. Prior to her three and a half years at the agency she had worked in-house at Electrolux and education-focused NGO Berättarministeriet, among other roles.

Investment and expansion plans at Ramarketing

Newcastle-based pharma and life sciences specialist Ramarketing has received what it describes as a "six-figure investment" from industry veteran Fiona Cruickshank. The 20-strong firm did not disclose further details on the size of her newly-taken minority stake or investment, but said it hoped to use Cruickshank's expertise and investment to explore international expansion. It is already actively looking to open an office in the East Coast of the US - around a quarter of its business, including life sciences tech firm TraceLink and the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, is with US-based firms.

Another Word signs for UK Mail

UK Mail, one of Britain’s largest parcel delivery companies, has appointed the agency Another Word to build the reputation of the business in the home delivery market. Another Word, a finalist in the New Consultancy category at the PRWeek UK Awards, has been briefed to devise a series of campaigns to highlight how the company is responding to changes in consumer shopping habits.

Heavyweight hires for production push

Sports marketing and PR agency Heavyweight Sport is launching Pound-For-Pound, a content production division. It is being led by new hire Myles Jenkins, a BAFTA and Rose d'Or winning producer whose TV credits include The Crystal Maze and The Clare Balding Show. Heavyweight clients include Sky Bet, William Hill and Skins Sportswear.

MRM hires Beadle

Integrated financial services communications consultancy MRM has brought in Paul Beadle to lead its digital offering. Ex-journalist Beadle worked in a number of roles for Nationwide, rising to be head of social media and digital comms, and more recently worked briefly for agency Bottle.

Smart home technology firm Cocoon has appointed Bite as its UK brand comms agency.

Onyx Health has in the last month been appointed by Newcells Biotech, a provider of a cell-based assay technology to the drug and pre-clinical market, and HeartScan, which runs echocardiography and screening services.

CommsCo has been appointed to provide PR and social support to New Zealand-based Endace, a software firm that provides cyber security breach analysis and troubleshooting solutions.
