Hotwire brings on John Mahoney as first chief client officer

SAN FRANCISCO: Hotwire has named John Mahoney as its first chief client officer.

Mahoney joined Hotwire last month, reporting to group CEO Barbara Bates. Hotwire created the chief client officer role to support a global rollout of Hotwire’s services across its offices and accounts, Mahoney said. He is providing insight about how large clients work, the operational challenges they face, and how to deliver a consistent experience and services across markets.

"I am going to be out there with clients, as opposed to managing teams," he explained. "This is me partnering with clients all over the world in our different regions and offices."

Mahoney was most recently VP and client partner at SapientRazorfish, a role he departed in May. Prior, he was an associate partner and VP at Rosetta.

Hotwire has also promoted two staffers: John Brown to group SVP for strategy and innovation, and Sahana Jayaraman to EVP and global head of Digital Brand Lab. Brown will relocate to New York from London for the role.

Hotwire named Bates CEO in May, seven months after it acquired her firm, Eastwick Communications.

Earlier this month, former Hotwire CEO Brendon Craigie launched "location agnostic" science and technology PR agency Tyto with Ellen Raphael, ex-director of the science education charity Sense About Science.

SVP and GM Rebecca Honeyman and SVP Greg Mondshein left Hotwire last month to launch SourceCode Communications.
