Arnott leaves The O2 for theatrical role

Jules Arnott (pictured above), currently marketing and comms director at London venue The O2, has followed her former boss to take up a new role at Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Really Useful Theatres Group. Arnott will take up the same role at the operator of seven West End theatres on 30 October. Really Useful group MD Rebecca Kane Burton was general manager of The O2 until last year.

Frank bags Tyrrells

Frank has been appointed as the PR agency of crisps and popcorn maker Tyrrells. The agency is currently working on projects for the brand and will begin a retainer in January, overseeing new product launches, consumer campaigns and trade media outreach. Spider announced in September that it had resigned the account after six years working for Tyrrells, which was acquired by US snack food group Amplify in 2016.

Kaizo hired by tech firm

Pure Storage, a tech firm likely to bring in revenue of $1bn this year, has appointed Kaizo in the UK. Pure Storage provides an independent all-flash data platform vendor for the cloud era and clients include Airbus, NASA and more than a quarter of Fortune 500 firms. Kaizo was hired following a five-way pitch.

Cartwright opens in Lincoln

Nottingham-based Cartwright Communications has opened a second office, in Lincoln. Three of Cartwright's 23 staff, led by Rachel Cullis Dorsett, will be based there, with plans to bring in further new hires. Cartwright's eponymous founder Liz was born in Lincolnshire and began her career as a journalist on the Lincolnshire Echo, before setting up her PR agency in 2006.

Golin hires for video demand

Golin has appointed Alex Purcell to a newly created creative director role in its in-house content studio. He will focus on meeting what the agency says is growing client demand for video and animation. He previously worked for The Guardian.

Proactive signs with Brazil agency

The UK agency Proactive International PR has commenced a strategic partnership with Brazil-based marketing agency Content Hub. Proactive was founded in 2010 and has worked for the Broadband World Forum, the ECOC Exhibition and others. Content Hub clients have recently included Sony and Yahoo!.

Rooster wins tourism briefs

Rooster PR has been appointed as the first retained agency for US local tourist board Discover Long Island, and has also been hired by the St Kitts Tourism Authority to manage its day-to-day press office and implement a creative campaign. St Kitts' PR was previously done by River Communications.

Thwaites enrols with Oxford college

Jesus College, Oxford, has appointed London agency Thwaites Communications to produce a strategic communications plan to showcase Jesus' ambition and vision ahead of its 450th anniversary in 2021.

IoT win for Jargon

Jargon PR has been hired by global IoT connectivity platform, Thingstream, to run a content-focused campaign, driving awareness of Thingstream’s core services in the IoT and channel press across the UK and Europe, and elsewhere.
