Clark to join Saab, Synergy ups McGregor, MBO for CMJ PR firm, W North adds two clients and more from PRWeek UK.

Synergy ups McGregor

Kate McGregor (pictured above) has been promoted to associate director of comms at sports marketing group Synergy. She joined the firm nearly five years ago, initially as senior account manager, and has since managed several integrated client accounts and was recently involved in winning the Under Armour account. It follows the departure of director of comms Adam Raincock, who will join Pitch shortly.

Clark to join Saab

Nicolas Clark will join Swedish defence and security company Saab later this month to lead its UK comms function. He is currently a senior account manager at PLMR, having joined last year from property owner The Crown Estate. He was seconded to the Conservative Party during this year's general election and recently helped run PLMR's new Business Hub lounge at the party's annual conference. He is also an army reservist officer who served in Sierra Leone during the Ebola Crisis.

MBO for CMJ PR firm

Facets PR has gone through a management buy-out and is now owned by MD Sarah Carpin, rebranding in the process. It was previously known as CMJ Media, having been set up in 2011 by Carpin as a subsidiary of the Company of Master Jewellers, a network of independent retail jewellers across the UK and Ireland. Facets will continue to work with the CMJ, providing PR services and working on its quarterly magazine, Facets. A statement said Carpin was "offered the opportunity to purchase the agency "as part of the group's restructuring plans that focus on CMJ's core business following a recent profitability review".

W North adds two clients

Colart Group has appointed W North, the Newcastle-based division of W Communications, to handle PR and deliver creative campaigns for two of its brands, Reeves and Snazaroo. W North will help art and craft supplies brand Reeves promote its new identity through a series of UK events. Meanwhile, the agency has also been tasked with positioning Snazaroo as the leading face paint brand among "millennial mums", W North said.

Cow lands VisitScotland brief

VisitScotland has appointed Cow, after issuing a tender for PR services from a London-based in January.  The agency's remit includes achieving media cut-through and consumer engagement, particularly in London and south east of England, the agency said. The contract has an approximate maximum value of £54,000 per annum.

Bubble's conference appointment

Bubble Communications, which specialises in the media and entertainment technology and services sectors, has been appointed by creative media exhibition and conference, The Media Production Show, to provide PR support. It takes place at London's Olympia in June.

PRCO wins Bulgari brief

PRCO has been appointed as the UK PR firm for Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. PRCO UK will be handling the UK press and communications for the brand, which includes properties in London, Milan, Bali and the newly opened Bulgari Hotel Beijing, as well as new openings planned for 2017 and beyond.

Aisle 8 gets haircare client

Australian luxury haircare brand Mr Smith has appointed Aisle 8, the agency launched by Lauren Stevenson and Virginia Norris in October 2014, to manage its UK PR and comms.
