The film is based on research from Virgin Holidays that surveyed 1,000 LGBT+ people and 1,000 straight people about their experiences.
The survey shows that just five per cent of LGBT+ couples feel at ease showing affection on holiday. This is in contrast to 84 per cent of straight couples.
Virgin Holidays created the spoof video, titled 'What if we treated straight couples the way gay couples are treated on holiday?', to highlight this disparity and reveal some of the situations that LGBT+ couples typically experience.
These include the judgment experienced when putting sun cream on a partner's back and requesting a double bed in a hotel room (see video below).
Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson said: "At Virgin Holidays, we believe everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, has the right to be whoever they are, wherever they are. That's why it is shocking that in today's society some of us can't even enjoy a simple holiday without fear of discrimination. It's fantastic that Virgin Holidays are raising awareness around this important issue."
Virgin Holidays appointed One Green Bean as its first retained PR agency in November last year.
