Jenkins, who has worked in the industry for 12 years for major organisations including Unilever, Bank of America, Lego Foundation, MasterCard and UNICEF, most recently worked at Weber’s Social Impact Practice. Her other roles have included political advisor and campaign manager at the Labour Party.

Portland’s Philanthropy practice works with high-profile clients including the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Kofi Annan Foundation, Alwaleed Philanthropies and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Martin Sheehan, Portland’s MD responsible for the agency’s Government Advisory, Philanthropy and Disputes teams, said: "Lucy’s appointment comes at a fantastic time for the agency. She brings a great expertise in global, integrated campaigns to our clients. And we believe her appointment will accelerate our growth and strengthen our global offer still further."

Last month, Portland announced the appointment of three former Downing Street advisers to its senior team.

UK revenue at the Omnicom agency grew 21 per cent last year to £27m, according to estimates in PRWeek's Top 150 Consultancies table. The agency employs more than 250 people globally.
