Your call: Will 280 characters change Twitter?

Twitter is expanding its 140 character limit to 280 characters, but is this really what the social network needs?

Twitter's 140 chacter limit is either its most unique or most limiting feature, depending on who you ask. In either case, Twitter has built a strong brand out of its penchant for brevity. But now the platform is testing an expanded 280 character limit, after announcing plans to increase the limit several times in the past.

Given the tumultuous reputation of the once revolutionary social media network, one may wonder whether 280 characters is enough to reinvigorate Twitter's base, or if expanding the character limit now is the first step down a slippery slope that could lead to damaging homogenization down the line.

It's your call. Let us know, do you think an expanded character limit is what Twitter needs right now?
