Byrne, who worked previously at The Academy's consumer PR division Shine between 2013 and 2014, joins from a senior account director role at Ogilvy PR in Australia. She will work alongside The Academy co-founder Dan Glover and oversee the agency's creative output.
Byrne said: "We will ultimately be judged by our creative reputation, so it's a fantastic challenge to help make the work bigger, better and more effective."
Brooks joins The Academy following more than five years at House PR, which was acquired by W Communications last year. Her clients will include Weight Watchers, Zizzi, and Alton Towers.
Both Brooks and Byrne will join The Academy's management team, which includes Glover, agency co-founder Mitch Kaye and Rochelle Collison, as well as Joel Zietcer and Neil Broderick, both of whom were named in PRWeek’s 2017 30 under 30 list.
Kaye said the new hires "share our values, our energy and our ambition to set the highest standards in the industry".
Earlier this year in a PRWeek interview Kaye revealed The Academy was working to form a group of specialist agencies. These include events firm Jubba, arts and culture PR agency All Things Considered film production business The Academy Productions.
