It’s hard to believe that something as ubiquitous as the hashtag even has a birthday, but today marks 10 years since Twitter harnessed the power of the # symbol. Of course, the symbol transcended Twitter long ago, and is now a fundamental element of written (and even verbal) communication.
But hashtags have always been a bit touch and go for brands, and even seem a bit out of vogue in general. Or are they?
