Taryn Brucia joined LG Electronics in 2009 to spearhead the creation of internal communications programs for LG’s 2,000 employees nationwide.
She quickly ascended to director of internal communications, where she was responsible for conceiving and implementing comprehensive programs to foster engagement through understanding of the organization’s business objectives, and to drive a culture change that would connect various silos internally for the first time.
By 2014, Brucia was promoted to director of PR for LG Electronics, with responsibility for LG’s fast-growing home entertainment business in the U.S. A career highpoint was her role in the launch of the LG OLED TV, a product that created a new category of televisions.
From leading the review program that resulted in thumbs-up from industry experts to her creative consumer-facing PR initiatives to expose this new technology to the masses, Brucia played a major role in establishing LG as the clear leader in the premium TV category. LG exceeded Samsung and Sony for sales in less than a year.
As U.S. head of PR for LG Home Appliances, Brucia brought the same level of enthusiasm and leadership to a more complex and challenging business unit with equally impressive results.
She has helped position LG as an industry leader in the highly competitive U.S. home appliance market with programs such as the comprehensive LG Studio premium appliance activity with designer Nate Berkus, and the launch of countless new technologies including LG TWINWash washers and InstaView refrigerators.
- She drove a culture of change at LG that connected various silos of the business internally for the first time.
- Brucia devotes time and talent to key industry organizations, particularly the communications committee at the Consumer Technology Association, and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.
- At Edelman, she served as account lead for global clients such as Starbucks, Anheuser Busch, Mars, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer.
