40 Under 40 2017: Courtney Bigelow

EVP, consumer marketing, Edelman, 39

Courtney Bigelow has a long history of success working with eBay, one of Edelman’s largest global accounts. She led the eBay Marketplaces business, overseeing a team of more than 30 cross-practice professionals and driving integrated consumer, business, and digital communications strategy. She also managed the split between eBay and PayPal in 2015 and guided the introduction of eBay’s new logo.

In her new post-split role as global client relationship manager for PayPal, Bigelow leads a team of more than 100 professionals to advance PayPal’s mission of democratizing financial services. She is dedicated to finding solutions and tackling the client’s most complex business challenges.

Bigelow was a driving force in partnering with PayPal on their 2016 holiday campaign to reinvent the gift of money. The award-winning integrated communications marketing idea drove business impact, attracting new active customers and delivering revenue.

Bigelow has driven year-over-year growth on the account by expanding into new PayPal business units. She has extended this globally, facilitating geography and practice and specialty expansion with a win in Canada for PR and corporate digital, research, and employee engagement projects.

  • Bigelow and her husband own and operate Hillside Schoolhouse, a boutique inn in the Catskill Mountains.
  • She was previously account supervisor with the consumer marketing and entertainment agency Bragman Nyman Cafarelli - now PMK-BNC - where she managed PR programs for American Express, Diageo, LVMH, and Sony PlayStation.
  • Her work with eBay has been recognized by the PRSA and PRWeek.
