MEDIA: Guardian/TIME to launch biannual mags for fashion

Two publications known for their hard news coverage are launching biannual fashion magazines.

Weekly news magazine TIME will unveil The Fashion Issue on 11 March, while The Guardian newspaper is to publish its Spring Fashion Handbook with the Saturday paper's Weekend magazine tomorrow. Both are also planning September issues of their titles, to coincide with London Fashion Week.

TIME's new magazine is edited by Lauren Goldstein and plans to deal with the business of fashion as well as the products. To that end, it is tied in with the title's inaugural fashion awards, in which a panel chooses its CEO of the year and votes on clothes and accessories. Independent fashion companies are also featured.

The Guardian's title is overseen by fashion editor Jess Cartner-Morley and focuses specifically on spring and summer clothing lines.
