Four hires at Tulchan

Tulchan has made four appointments. The agency has taken on former Diageo director of investor relations Catherine James as a senior consultant. James is also a non-exec at the broker Numis. Former Conservative Party chair Lord Feldman of Elstree and Asian investment banking expert Sanjiv Misra join as senior advisors in London and Singapore respectively. Sue Clark, the former corporate affairs chief of ScottishPower and SABMiller, becomes a non-executive director of Tulchan.

VPN firm hires The PR Office

London-based The PR Office has been awarded a US brief with virtual private network provider CyberGhost. The agency is charged with targeting American b2c, tech trade and business media, with day-to-day activity being delivered by team members working in New York and Silicon Valley. The PR Office's tech portfolio also includes Invertex, Medaware, Cimagine and Oxx.

Diffusion selected by Informa

Diffusion has been selected by business intelligence group Informa as its retained PR agency in the UK for its Ovum, Agribusiness Intelligence and Pharma Intelligence brands. The campaigns for both Ovum and Agribusiness Intelligence will predominantly use media relations, reporting on Informa's insight and data as a thought leader on key themes arising in the technology and agribusiness industries.

Two hires and a promotion at iris

Bonnie Ohara and Rachid Ahouiyek have joined iris. Ohara joins the group's experiential offering, having previously been a creative brand strategist at Amplify, while McCann veteran Ahouiyek becomes creative director. In addition, Robin Davies has been promoed to board director. The agency, which won seven Cannes Lions this year, operates its PR and brand experience unit as iris Culture.

Next 15 non-exec departs

Text100 and Bite owner Next Fifteen has announced that non-executive director Alicja Lesniak has stepped down from the board. She had completed two three-year terms. The board "is in the final stages of its search for another independent non-exec and expects to announce an appointment shortly", an announcement said. The agency last month announced the merger of Lexis into Text100.

Greentarget gets Foxwell

Financial services agency Greentarget has taken on Mark Foxwell as a director, with a focus on content. He joins from Cubitt Consulting, where he worked for the past two years, prior to which he worked at Teamspirit, and before that spent 12 years in national newspaper journalism. Foxwell joins weeks after former UKIP press officer John Gill started at the Chicago-headquartered firm.

Approach wins distillery

Yorkshire public relations consultancy Approach has been awarded the PR and social media support contract for small-batch craft distillery, Durham Distillery. The agency secured the initial six-month contract after a four-way pitch between national and local agencies.

Peel+Williams tees off

Peel+Williams has been appointed to handle the UK PR for Four Seasons Fairways, a villa and golf resort in Quinta do Lago, Portugal.
