STOP PRESS: WPP Group posts better-than-expected results

RESULTS: WPP Group has posted better-than-expected results, with a 29 per cent rise in full-year profits for 2001. The parent firm of Burson-Marsteller, Hill & Knowlton, Ogilvy PR Worldwide, Cohn & Wolfe, Finsbury and Buchanan Communications now generates 54 per cent of its income from non-ad services, including PR. The group predicts ad revenues will fall by three per cent, while marketing services revenue will rise three per cent in 2002. Leader, p8.
