DIARY: Bolland agency set for boom as clients surface

Prince Charles's outgoing press chief Mark Bolland is hitting the ground running as he opens the doors to his own PR consultancy later this spring.

One sports marketing firm last week attempted to use PRWeek as a conduit to establish a link with Bolland's incipient PR operation.

And with his well-chronicled connections with big-wigs in the tabloid media, Bolland is keen to branch out from his well-trod Royal patch, Diary can reveal.

'I'm interested in testing the market. I've had a few calls, but have enough to get on with for the moment,' the famously taciturn PRO says, adding, 'the interest is interesting, though'.

Having last week announced his intentions to jump from the post of deputy private secretary and launch his own agency (PRWeek, 8 February), Bolland has been given the kindly parachute of four start-up clients - current employer Prince Charles, as well as Princes William and Harry, and Camilla Parker Bowles. Nice work ...
