Horniman Museum hires Flint

South London's Horniman Museum and Gardens has appointed specialist cultural comms agency Flint to support the launch of its World Gallery project and studio in 2018. Flint has been tasked with positioning Horniman as "a must-visit destination for local, national and international audiences and amplifying its authoritative voice in the field of museum anthropology", the agency said.

EM opens in Beijing

Emerging markets specialist EM has appointed Laura Luo as deputy director (Asia). She is tasked with building the firm's presence in China, opening its Beijing office and working alongside Anna Glikman, who leads EM's Asia operations from Hong Kong. Luo was previously a business reporter on local English language TV station China Global Television Network. With more than 20 staff, financial and corporate comms agency EM also has offices in London, Moscow and New York.

Social hires Milnes in ops role

Nathan Milnes has joined Social Communications as chief marketing and operations officer. He joins from a role at Manchester integrated agency Amaze One, having previously worked in in-house roles in the North West. He started his career agency-side in London. Public affairs and PR agency Social Communications is in its fourth year and opened in London with a senior hire last September.

Capella toasts wine win

Capella has been hired by eto to help launch its crowdfunded wine decanter, which promises to reduce waste and preserve wine in optimum conditions for at least 12 days. The project hit its target of £55,000 within 32 hours of appearing on Kickstarter. The independent agency is providing PR and digital support.

McLaren extends Sidhu & Simon brief

Automotive brand McLaren North America has appointed lifestyle PR agency Sidhu & Simon to raise brand awareness in the region. Sidhu & Simon, which is based in London, has worked for McLaren Automotive over the last five years in a number of other regions. The sports car manufacturer also appointed Laura Conrad to a media relations role in March, following the hires of Paul Chadderton and Hunter Skipworth to its global PR team in October.
