PUBLIC SECT0R: Temple set to develop comms at bfi

The British Film Institute (bfi) this week made its second major PR appointment inside four months as project manager Ian Temple agreed to lead the body's communications.

Temple will transfer in March from his current role as head of bfi's capital projects, where he has overseen the £20m creation of the London IMAX.

Temple's role slots in above that of Anne Davison, who joined the institute as head of comms last autumn (PRWeek, 14 September 2001).

His title of development and communications director will see him retain control of capital project development as well as fundraising, promoting the bfi's brand image and improving internal and external comms.

Since joining in 1995 he has overseen the building of the Film Cafe Bar at the National Film Theatre in London and will oversee the creation of the institute's Film Centre, due to open in 2006.

Temple reports to bfi director Jon Teckman.
