The MoD's QinetiQ has revamped its communications function
The Ministry of Defence's privatised weapons research body QinetiQ
has revamped its communications function. This follows the departure of
corporate affairs director Liz Peace, who left last month to join the
British Property Federation as its director-general. QinetiQ, which is
sponsoring a record-breaking attempt to take a manned balloon to 132,000
feet, is not planning to replace Peace. Her corporate duties are being
handed to head of media relations Joanna Sale, while government affairs
officer Abi Child will take control of that remit. According to media
relations manager Douglas Millard, the revamp comes as QinetiQ seeks
more publicity for its technological work in the commercial sector.
QinetiQ was created last year to take over most of the work of the MoD's
Defence Evaluation and Research Agency.
