STOP PRESS: Private firms are less trusted
RESEARCH: Private firms are less trusted than NGOs and governments
to be socially responsible and transparent, according to research this
week by Edelman PR Worldwide. The opinion-leaders survey found 43 per
cent trust NGOs while 38 per cent trust businesses. Meanwhile, Reader's
Digest's second annual Trusted Brands survey named Lloyds TSB as the
most trusted brand in banking and British Airways in aviation. Ford
emerged top among car manufacturers, while Tesco was leader in retail.
