PR team axed as ITV Digital collapses

LONDON - The entire communications team of ITV Digital have lost their jobs following the firm's demise this week.

Director of corporate relations Andrew Marre and consumer PR manager Marcus Agar are among seven communications staff made redundant as the digital platform collapsed late on Tuesday.

Prior to this week all but Marre, senior press officer Mark Woods and intranet head Sue Cook had already been axed in an earlier wave of cutbacks aimed at attracting a buyer for the troubled business.

All are understood to be actively looking for jobs in the PR industry.

The firm previously made director of comms Jessica Mann redundant at the time of its rebrand from ONdigital, leaving the remaining PR team to report to marketing director Jeremy Dale.

The PR team are among 250 staff who have lost their jobs at ITV Digital's London head office, alongside MD Bob Fyfe.

A further 1,500 call-centre staff in Pembroke and Plymouth have also lost their jobs.

The firm's sole external PR agency, Cake, was told that its work had been 'put on hold' when ITV Digital was placed in administration last month.

Agency director Clare Craven confirmed the agency is still owed a 'nominal' sum in unpaid fees, and will now have to join a lengthy list of creditors.
