Edelman’s Saratha Rajeswaran joins pharma trade body

Saratha Rajeswaran, formerly associate director of public affairs at Edelman, has joined the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) as executive director. Her remit will include leading the ABPI’s government affairs team, as well as taking responsibility for the trade body’s devolved offices in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast. 

Shine MD Lawrence Collis joins Good Relations

Lawrence Collis, former MD at Shine @ The Academy, has joined PR and content agency Good Relations as executive consumer director. He will lead the agency’s consumer practice alongside executive director David Wiles, who was also at Shine between 2013 and 2016, his LinkedIn profile states.

Havas hired by shoe chain

The 40-outlet retailer Wynsors World of Shoes has appointed Havas PR following a three-way pitch. The agency's first brief is to highlight Wynsors 'Back to School' offer, one of the most competitive trading periods in the retail sector. The appointment expands Havas PR's retail portfolio, which already includes Asda, Greggs, Hobbycraft, Debenhams, Pets at Home and DFS.

Seven arrive at Axon

Healthcare agency Axon Communications has unveiled seven new hires. Two new medical writers, Saroshi Amirthaligam and Vincent Foster, both of whom hold PhDs, arrived last month from agencies Elements and inVentiv respectively. The medical comms team has welcomed Kate Picard of the The British Editorial Society of Bone and Joint Surgery as publication project manager, and Amy Fernandes from agency Chameleon as senior programme executive. In the PR team, Sarah Rosenberg has joined as a programme executive from H+K Strategies. The finance team has also welcomed two new senior accounts assistants. The fast-growing agency is ranked in the PRWeek Top 150 as the UK's 28th largest.

Cellet bags tourism brief

Oxfordshire's Cellet Marketing & Public Relations has been picked by Chicago's TimeZoneOne as its UK and Ireland partner on the Illinois Office of Tourism destination marketing account. TimeZoneOne and Cellet will also be working with Wiechmann Tourism Service in Germany and ConnectWorldwide in Japan.

Clifton takes new racing post

Newbury Racecourse's head of comms and sponsorship Andy Clifton will leave his role in September to become racing director at the Racecourse Association, the trade association representing 59 racing venues. Previous experience has included PR roles at Ladbrokes and The Tote.

Technical Publicity wins automated safety firm

Automated safety solutions provider Hima has appointed specialist b2b agency Technical Publicity to a global PR brief. Technical’s remit will include supporting integrated communications campaigns "that encompass corporate reputation, events management and media relations across Europe and the Asia Pacific region".
