DIARY: PR agencies focus on plate in footy tournament

Last Saturday saw the second PRWeek Challenge Cup, this year held at the (almost) sultry Power League complex in Friern Barnet, north London.

In a re-run of last year's final, accounting firm Levy Gee beat ad agency TBWA 5-1 to land the 5-a-side football trophy.

With another ad agency, DLKW, scooping the main netball gong, it was, once again, the lower-grade but equally hotly-contested plate competitions that grabbed the attention of the PR agencies.

Cohn & Wolfe despatched the PRWeek ads team 1-0 in the football final (the editorial side were cruelly beaten on penalties in the quarters), and Fleishman-Hillard won the netball plate.

In all, 32 'football' teams - some sides were perhaps overly-robust in their tactics (hello Edelman, hello Blue Rubicon ...) - and nine netball teams took part.
