PUBLIC SECTOR: Preston plans PR push to develop city centre area

Preston Borough Council has launched a PR initiative to oversee the regeneration of the city centre.

The council is to launch a media relations and public consultation effort surrounding the proposed redevelopment of the Tithebarn area of Preston city centre.

It is being supported by Harrison Cowley's Manchester office, which has been hired by the council's strategic partner, international property developer Grosvenor, following a four-way pitch.

The agency will assist with media and community relations and public affairs work for the planned regeneration process, as the council attempts to reposition Preston as a major north-west retail and leisure destination.

HC associate director Sally Neary and account director Paul Tustin will oversee the agency's work on the campaign.

The campaign will also look to promote Preston's city status which was awarded last month.
