AIG Europe hires Drum on B2B job to boost profile

Insurance firm AIG Europe has recruited external PR support in an attempt to boost its profile among personnel managers and travel firms.

The Drum Consultancy has been hired on a retained basis to handle B2B briefs to promote accident and health insurance products and its travel insurance portfolio.

Drum MD Karen Hughes heads the account, reporting to AIG marketing manager Roger Thomas.

Hughes said: 'The campaign will focus on targeting our key audiences through the trade and national media, as well as in special platform events.'

The hire of Drum comes two weeks after the agency scooped another piece of work from AIG.

Drum was appointed in early April to promote to consumers a joint-venture with Inter-Group, called JourneyWise. The venture offers services including a 24-hour helpline and a concierge.

Drum is also tasked with handling crisis and issues management for JourneyWise.
