Beattie hires Golley Slater MD Stretton

Creative comms group Beattie has appointed Eileen Stretton as client and business development director. Stretton, who was formerly MD of Golley Slater’s Leeds office, will report to Beattie Group director Rachel Gladwin. Beattie has made a number of senior hires this year, including naming former Saatchi & Saatchi global CEO Kevin Roberts as chairman and appointing former Grayling CEO Alison Clarke as chairman of its marketing division Only Marketing.

Biggin Hill gets on board with 80:20

Business aviation airport London Biggin Hill has appointed specialist travel PR agency 80:20 Communications to an international trade and corporate PR brief. The agency will promote Biggin Hill to business aviation and corporate travel audiences, positioning it as the capital’s "premier business aviation airport of the future", 80:20 said.

Stir hires PrettyGreen’s Grabowski

Lifestyle PR agency Stir has hired Chris Grabowski (below), ex-creative director at PrettyGreen, as client services director. He will be responsible for managing the agency’s clients, which include The Botanist Gin, Felix, Miele, Rowntree’s and San Pellegrino. Stir, which is set to introduce a new brand identity, is listed at 131 in PRWeek’s new UK Top 150, with revenue of £1.6m in 2016.

Grayling reveals Aetna win

Grayling has revealed that it won a global comms contract with Aetna International, the international private medical insurance arm of US-insurer Aetna Enterprise. The contract started about three months ago. Grayling said it will work with the company to build its profile from network hubs in London, Dubai and Singapore.

Stripe retained by ScottishPower

It has emerged that energy company ScottishPower has retained Stripe Communications as its UK PR agency, following a review of the account last year. Stripe, which was reappointed towards the start of 2017, has held the account since 2012.

Promote wins fitness client

Trampoline-based fitness class franchise ((BOUNCE)) has taken on Promote PR to manage the brand's consumer and trade PR. The company's classes welcome more than 20,000 participants every month at more than 100 locations across the UK.

Rothamsted Research recruits

Former BBC journalist is joining agricultural science research centre Rothamsted Research as head of comms. She currently at the Medical Research Council’s London Institute of Medical Sciences, based at the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London, and will join Rothamsted in the autumn.
