Dixon nets HBOS asset management job

HBOS has hired its first external comms manager for the bank's soon-to-be relaunched asset management business.

The UK's fifth largest bank has hired Annie Dixon to the role as it prepares to relaunch the enlarged asset management arm, currently called Clerical Medical Investment Management (CMIM).

The move forms part of a wider comms restructure, which has seen PR split between internal and external.

Gill O'Donoghue, former asset management comms director, is now internal comms head. Both Dixon and O'Donoghue report to Gary Mairs, MD at CMIM.

Dixon was formerly a director at financial services PR specialist Vanbrugh Financial Communications until last November, when she was made redundant.

Dixon will head a two-strong team at CMIM, formed from the merger of the original CMIM business, Halifax fund manager and Equitable Life's investment division.

Part of her remit is to manage CMIM's ongoing agency pitch, which kicked off earlier this year (PRWeek, 15 February), for the firm's six-figure fee PR business.
