Edelman UK brings Swedish agency to London
Edelman UK is looking to Stockholm to strengthen its creative work and expansion beyond traditional PR. It has brought Deportivo, the Swedish creative agency it acquired in 2014, into its business under the name Edelman Deportivo. Deportivo CEO Mattias Ronge, becomes chairman of Edelman Deportivo UK. The team will split its time between London and Stockholm and report into Edelman UK general manager Toby Gunton, a 2016 hire from media agency OMD. Deportivo clients include UNICEF, Renault and Absolut Vodka.
Aston Uni brings on Journalista
Birmingham-based Aston University (above) has appointed London agency Journalista to lead on its comms strategy and engagement for the next three years. The account was previously held by Linstock. Journalista has previously worked for a UCL school and one of Aston Business School's institutes, among other higher education clients.
Splendid wins ibis
Splendid Communications has won a brief with ibis, AccorHotels' economy hotel chain, via a competitive pitch process. The agency will manage the press office for ibis, ibis Styles and ibis Budget and deliver content creation for the ibis UK social channels. The team will also generate brand awareness through creative campaigns.
Birds Eye hires Inkling for new campaign
Inkling has been appointed by Birds Eye to support a major new campaign aimed at making mums think again about its chicken products. The agency pitched against two others in late 2016. Inkling will work closely with ad agency, Grey and media agency, Zenith. The campaign kicks off on 1 April 2017.
Brazen Live goes live
Brazen has appointed former BBC and ITV producer Claire Hoang to run its new digital production and content division, Brazen Live. Hoang was a director at media-planning agency MEC after leaving her broadcast career. Producer and director Sarah Hodgetts joins her in sitting up the new offering.

UK corporate, consumer and public affairs firm Hanover Group has announced a partnership with German public affairs agency Johanssen + Kretschmer. The company will support each others clients across multiple sectors, including energy, financial services, technology and transport.
