Braben founder launches Magnify London and forges link with old friend at Finn

Sarah Braben, who founded b2b agency Braben and later sold it to US firm MWW, is launching a new agency that will do much of its work in collaboration a former colleague now working for Finn.

Braben founded her agency in 1994, built up a client roster that included Bauer Media, The Weather Channel and Starcom MediaVest Group, and sold it to MWW in November 2014. She remained with MWW until January 2016.

She has now created Magnify London, which will focus on b2b and corporate brands.

In addition to her own clients, and work advising young entrepreneurs, Braben told PRWeek that she expected to spend roughly half of her time working on mutual clients with Finn, a Leeds-based agency that last year took on Braben's MD of 12 years at Braben, Matt Bourn.

The agencies will work together on certain media, tech and marketing industry clients, with Braben providing high-level strategic advice on "developing the right framework and unique messaging and approach to really stand out in highly competitive and transformative markets", she said.

Braben said she was not yet able to name any of the clients brought in since she began work on the new venture earlier this month. She is currently its sole staffer.

One of the larger PR businesses headquartered outside of the M25, Finn is looking to increase its media sector practice under Bourn, and has recently taken on new account manager Sam Clayton, who previously worked with him at Braben. Finn clients include Finsbury Foods Group, Fox's Biscuits and new win 8 Outdoor.
