The existing board, led by director-general Flora Hamilton, has put forward the candidates to fill four vacancies, two of which were created this year with the resignation of Madsen Gornall Ashe founder Alastair Gornall and BMB Reputation Managers director Stella Hitner. The other two gaps had been unfilled since last year's AGM.
The four put forward for the board are Shine Communications chairman Rachel Bell, Weber Shandwick joint UK CEO David Brain, Haslimann Taylor MD Bronwen Eames, and Firefly Communications MD Claire Walker.
All four have accepted the invitation to the board, and their appointment is now subject to ratification by the PRCA's members.
The forthcoming AGM will be boosted by news that figures for the first quarter of 2002 from the PRCA's PReview scheme indicate a significant upturn in demand for PR agencies' services.
The body's figures show a rise of 35 per cent in enquiries received in the first three months of this year compared to the final three months of 2001.
